When opening the patch it says "Couldn't open file for reading", even when I attempt to open it through Lunar IPS.

I just tested PATCH. It works fine with LunarIPS. Make sure to unzip the contents of the file with 7zip.

Yes, I have 7-Zip and I unzipped the file with it. But this is the error that it gives me when I click on the patch.

I just tried it on another computer and it worked. Quite a few people have downloaded the patch and it's strange that it won't work for you.

Wait, now I found out why it doesn't work. You won't believe me...

It's because you use non-Latin characters (in this case the "魂斗羅2" Japanese text) to name the folder the patch is contained in.
