This is a work-in-progress English translation of the Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver prototypes demoed at Space World 1997.

This features:
* Fully translated demo mode
* Fully translated battles
* Work-in-progress translations of Story Mode (provided as a separate patch) and Debug Mode

I may reboot this eventually, since this was based on an unfinished version of the disassembly. It will be far easier to rebase the project on the newest version of it, but it would be a difficult task to merge everything.

Based on the following translations:
* https://tcrf.net/Proto:Pokémon_Gold_and_Silver/Spaceworld_1997_Demo/Text
* Additional translations provided by mauvesea and GlitterBerri

Big thanks to Narishma-gb for their disassemblies of the Japanese versions of the retail games. I wouldn't have been able to know where to look for various things without them.

Find a bug? Something untranslated? Something translated wrong? I made a dumb typo? Report it to [the GitHub page](https://github.com/MDTravisYT/pokegold-spaceworld)!

Known bugs:
* Any bugs that exist in the original game are still present. To retain authenticity, these are not planned to be fixed.
* The PC boxes does not work properly and may cause crashes
* Move descriptions may not line break properly
* Player name is too short
* The Unown dex has redrawing bugs
* Multiplayer features may not work properly
* Story Mode and Debug Mode is not fully translated
* Minigames and extra modes are mostly untranslated, and may crash

Can you add a option to use Western Pokemon names. And Dub Pokemon attack moves names
To retain authenticity and consistency, all new Pokémon that didn't exist in the first games use romanized Japanese names. No truly official names exist for most of them beyond the ones in the demo. Most of those that did make it to the final game had a different name anyway.
As for "attack move names", assuming you're referring to the names of the moves the Pokémon use, they're translated exactly like the rest of the move names in the first game.

I been playing a rom hack called Pokemon Super Gold 97. You use that to use official English Pokemon Names on your rom hack Pokémon Gold & Silver (Spaceworld 1997 Demo

While those do use names heard in an interview by someone that localized Gen 1 and Gen 2, he was not involved with naming the Pokémon in the original games. Otherwise we'd have things like having Vulpix be named "Vulpvi" and Ninetales as "Vulpix". That's why I didn't use them.
