**Kirby's Dream Land 2: CHAOS DX** is a deliberately unstable-feeling, unpredictable remix of *Kirby's Dream Land 2 DX*. The basic stages and progression remain recognizable, but the enemies inhabiting them have been heavily remixed. Normal stage routes are no longer limited to ordinary enemies: **mid-bosses, major bosses, and even King Dedede can suddenly appear during regular gameplay.** In other words, a harmless enemy encounter may unexpectedly become a boss fight. The goal of CHAOS DX is not simply to make Kirby's Dream Land 2 harder. It is to make the game feel strange, surprising, and different every time you play it, while still remaining playable from beginning to end. The hack also includes a **Random BGM version**, where music selection is shuffled for even more unpredictable combinations, as well as an **Original BGM version** for players who want the chaotic gameplay with the normal soundtrack order. ### Features * Heavy enemy and actor randomization * Mid-bosses can appear during normal stage sections * Major bosses can appear outside their original boss arenas * **King Dedede can appear on ordinary routes** * Unusual combinations of enemies and graphics that the original game was never designed to handle * Random BGM and Original BGM versions included * Based on the full-color *Kirby's Dream Land 2 DX v1.2* by kkzero * Additional safeguards intended to prevent the most severe crashes and VRAM-related freezes ### About the remaining graphical glitches **This release is considered complete in its current form.** However, CHAOS DX deliberately creates combinations of actors and graphics that the original game engine was never designed to load together. Because of this, **rare graphical corruption can still occur.** Most of the time it is harmless, but occasionally the resulting sprite corruption can look extremely bizarre — even by CHAOS DX standards. Rather than removing the chaotic combinations that make the hack interesting, the current version prioritizes keeping the game running whenever possible. That said: **Technical improvements, forks, bug fixes, reverse-engineering work, and better solutions to the remaining graphical corruption are absolutely welcome.** If you can make CHAOS DX more stable without removing the chaos, please feel free to investigate it, improve it, or build upon the CHAOS DX modifications. Please preserve the appropriate credits and respect the rights and terms of the original game and the upstream *Kirby's Dream Land 2 DX* project. CHAOS DX is finished. But it does not have to be the final word.
