I've been playing shin red for over a month or so now and I've been having a great time! And I LOVE the Mist Stone. It's so nice to actually have a means to boost pokemon stats that doesn't require glitching the game to hell and back to do it. If I ever have anyone interested in checking out older pokemon games, or just pokemon in general, these are the games I'd introduce them to! Thank you SO much for making this! TL;DR for the following: shin red/blue/green are fantastic rom hacks by themselves and are a great introduction to anyone new to gen 1. The only "Problems" are if you plan to use it to play pokemon stadium. So with all that in mind, the main game in of itself is great, but the only criticisms I have is in regards playing it on stadium, specifically pika cup and petit cup. The mist stone would be a fantastic item to use on pokemon you plan to use for these cups, but the mist stone only works on pokemon over lv 30. Since the mist stone is post E4 I don't think a minimum level cap is even necessary for it, but again, this is only a problem for pika cup and petit cup, not within the game itself. And to expand a little more on this, perhaps after E4 the level cap on trade evolutions using stones to evolve instead be removed. It's a good idea for the first run of the main game to keep things balanced, but after E4 I'd say it's completely unnecessary.
