News The new version of Romhack Plaza

I did one better, here's a 1 minute video of me navigating around the entries. I have a feeling it's the site, only the entries themselves are messy, everything else surrounding them looks normal.

You have to download the video first.

Don't worry, nothing is broken on your end—that's normal.

As for the grid, this has been fixed in the responsive version; the grid should now be scaled down.

For the entry descriptions, we're switching from HTML to Markdown, and inevitably, when it comes to images or other specific features, there's some loss of information between the two.

Since many people just put their hashes on the box any old way—or didn’t use the format we were using—unfortunately, quite a few hashes couldn’t be recovered.

Maybe in the future I’ll try to do it again with a simpler rule. That’s the price you pay when new versions change radically—things break.

As for in-game NGC detection, if the hash was empty, I imagine it’s a fallback. If it was the same, it’s like playing the lottery, lol.
The worst thing about that is that I now have to add the hashes by choosing the original ROM as if to upload it and the hashes appear afterwards. Not just copying the hashes themselves.

For now, this was the easiest way for everyone to get used to the new form and upload the hashes correctly; I'll add the option to enter a hash directly later. It's on my list of improvements. :)

Thank you Ben! Yes, the entry thumbnails and text are scaled down now and shows properly. It's really only the entry game description paragraphs that need separating now.

So glad that what i'm seeing is what everyone is seeing. My biggest fear is being the only one missing out.

Entry descriptions are messed up, can't make pharagraphs.

Added margins for paragraphs. In markdown, to make paragraphs, you must have a blank line in the editor.

@Simone D. Alemanno
I've added the option to enter hashes manually using the “Provide hash manually” button.

I also think I'll be able to run a script over the weekend to migrate even more “lost” hashes from the old version.

Request - While checking out the gallery on a project entry, when clicking on and viewing an image could we add some clickable left and right arrows to view the next or previous image? It would be cool if the left and right arrow keys worked the same for viewing the next or previous image also.

Hate to admit it because I loved the old site but the new site here is far more stable. Every time I visited the old site for the first time on a new and fresh PC boot up, it would crash on the site and say my PC is low on memory, once I rebooted it it would work just fine though, however that's not happening anymore with the new site and everything moves quicker and smoother now. I think i'm starting to like it this one better now.

Also can confirm for LoneGamer that the garbage isn't showing anymore in the text descriptions.

There could be several factors behind this, such as Hostinger, which is far from being the best hosting provider. (The site now runs on a Hetzner VPS.)

Also, WordPress is a champion when it comes to making requests left and right. So if you’re not careful, you could easily end up with a page that makes 600 database requests.

Switching to Laravel and XenForo allows for significant optimization in this area.

Added.

Just a issue; The thumbnail of ROM hacks are unclickable, I can click only in the name of the hacks. On the Database section.

Added.

Request - Noticed on a project page that the lengthy Reviews and Comments within the section takes up a lot of space compared to some reviews and comments posted by others. Can we get that Read More clickable option to expand and that Show Less clickable option to depress lengthy reviews and comments to keep the review and comment boxes sized more evenly?
